A lovely sight, Cathy :)

22:17 Telyn rose from the chicks and Monty came back to the nest with the remains of the earlier fish. He settled to brood the chicks.
23:31 Telyn gave Monty a couple of kicks but he still wouldn't budge
22:48 Telyn took over her night duty. Monty flew off the nest.
23:01 Telyn sleeping
I saw Telyn flip the chick out of the nest cup and it was obvious that the chick could not get back itself and ospreys are not designed to pick up a live chick - not a problem they have evolved to solve...
Couldn't bear to watch so went to water the garden - was amazed and delighted to see all three bobs back into the nest cup when I returned. So glad Ems decided to intervene - no danger of any of the chicks being scared off (they can hardly move yet!) and we know the parents return soon after the ringing process which is far longer and more disruptive.
Congratulations to DOP for swift action - Ems is a legend!

Good morning Cathy. Chat was like a machine gun! Only ever seen it like that once before!
Good morning, all. Both Limpy and I were watching last night - it was increasingly awful to see the plight of the chick so a big Thank You goes to Ems for his actions!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
