Having spent the Bank Holiday weekend in the lake district, I made a trip to Foulshaw. Saw the male returning to the nest and the female leaving (thanks to the volunteer for the info).
What amazed me was the size of the dragonflies. I can only describe then as being the insect worlds B52 bombers, they were huge, They don't get to that size in my part of Scotland
Remember - the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
