I'm trying to think what the heck to say, and to recall yesterday's sparse events :-/
Was last night the last of EJ the Diva's vigils? (No, she wasn't singing.)
But she left at daycam, after calling, flying in GJ's direction. Is this to be our last sight of EJ leaving after a night on the nest?
In the morning EJ did some minor nestorising and was occupied defending ~vs~ an unseen intruder, and Moffer passed on Alison's observation that GJ had muscled in!
(Taken from Moffer's snaps, and overly brightened to show EJ's face.)
.
For the rest of the day we saw nothing of EJ or anyone else - apart from Moffer's delightful "young Redstart?" :-*
We (CC an' me) are thinking that the first day of June might be a good time to start the off-season thread, all things being equal. All views welcome.

The Daily Update is for recording - with comments, snaps and videos - today's events on the nest. Banter is permitted ;) General osprey questions and discussions should be posted in the Osprey Chat thread.
IMAGICAT
EJ's short, quiet visit:
She flew off the left side of our screens.
She's back with little chirps, and GJ has landed on her back! And flown straight off!
She's flown.
I don't intend to do snaps if you are here, MOFFER :)

She lingered for a while with the odd preen, then flew.

Rather belatedly I've seen this capture by Trying and wondered what people think it is? Looks like a wader to me given body and bill proportions - I'd guess a Redshank? Interesting as I don't think I've seen a capture of a wader near the nest before.

Not wanting to confuse everyone with a night time shot, here's the nest now with eggs home alone in beautiful sunshine. [I'm quite envious as I'm fed up with muggy conditions here in London with lots of rain, thunder and lightning...]

I thought it was a very large insect, Birdsong. I'll do you a video. It will be maybe 1 second long ;)
Just returned from kitchen with dish of orange segments, and there's EJ flapping on the nest. Not violently.

I underestimated the length ;)

I wonder if MOFFER's had another power cut? I'm having prolonged thunder & lightning here in SW London but it's expected here 'n there all over the country, I believe.
Is EJ expecting another fish?
