Llyn Brenig Blue 24's new home.

For all those who are wondering what has happened to Blue 24 then here is the good news. Ospreys breed at Brenig reservoir for the first time in a century. A pair of Ospreys have laid a clutch of eggs on a nesting platform at Llyn Brenig reservoir near Cerrigydrudion . The site is managed by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water , which is now hoping for “two to three chicks” over the coming weeks. Ospreys regularly visited the reservoir last summer but this spring is the first time a pair has nested there, making Brenig only the fifth breeding site for the fish-eating birds in Wales. The male is believed to be a Scottish bird, ringed HR7, while the female was born at Rutland Water and is known as Blue 24. Finally she has found a home.
