The moment we had all been waiting and hoping for. EJ seen at Rothiemurchus fishing and they posted a little FB video of her drying off (edit: video was from Tuesday)! Here she is with her fish on the branch below the nest perch back at LG, as reported on FB and Moffer. © RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild
Sheila remarked she may not be around much for viewing now that she has sussed out the situation for herself. But it is merciful to us viewers, I think. That is all I think is fit to report! At the moment she has just turned the eggs before tucking her head back in to resume sleeping. and back by 10:02h

oh i should stop guessing once again :p
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!

Good morning everyone. So EJ is staying with the eggs for the time being. I wasn't surprised that she didn't take GJ's fish. It's not the first time that she's done that. Perhaps his card has been marked. Who can say what she is thinking? All we can do is watch and 'wait and see'
I'll put a few snaps from earlier here, and catch up again.
EJ on the edge of the nest giving herself a good preen in glorious sunshine.
She's flown and back again
Indeed, how on earth can we possibly know what EJ, let alone GJ, is thinking? She must have her reasons. She clearly had a good meal y'day which lasted well into the afternoon - she returned to the nest and ate on the nest. But hasn't had a meal today. Perhaps she just doesn't NEED a meal, having gone eight days without recently.
It would be nice to see her away from the nest for longer periods again, for her benefit, of course, not ours!
With regard to the Rothie vid of her at the Fish Farm y'day, someone asked on their post: "Was on or near the estate all day yesterday..... Not a breath of wind all day, very odd." . They responded and said the video was taken on Tuesday, presumably during one of her two longer breaks.
A badly written article in The Press and Journal about the LG nest.
11.49 EJ is standing up on the rim, back to the sun, shadow over the eggs, looking around with the odd bit of preening.
