EJ predictably has been dedicated to incubating her three eggs. Our wild card this year is a young male. I believe our opportunity is to watch him learning (or if he will learn) and to observe EJ's wisdom in these matters. Thank you to Tiger for the reminder that cam watchers have experienced the same angst as we are currently with EJ. At the moment she is, also predictably, tucked in, dreaming of fish, or Africa, or maybe a good mate.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild_______________________________________The Daily Update is for recording nest events only, allowing for banter, though—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Thank you!

I'd hoped the same Scylla.
EJ has called and flown
She's back and she looks wet.
Thanks for pics and posts, Everyone.
Ha, ha, Tiger (Re: your comment late yesterday)! Rhetoric? What rhetoric?--lol!
Kind regards, Ann
We need a miracle now, poor EJ no fish, she will hang on until the very last before abandoning the eggs though, she is so dedicated is our EJ.
It is so heartbreaking to see. :-(
It is a pity that unringed intruder hadn't brought her a fish.
It is still windy that little tree at the one oclock on the nest is blowing about madly... the nest is covered in bits of feathers...
She sits with the patience of a Saint!
Closing her eyes now and again, bless her.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Reading through the posts it looks like another fishless day and not help defending the nest. You couldn't imagine the new boy being that far away.
hi everybody what a state of affairs we have at the moment raptors can go quite some time without food what they cant do without is water. ospreys will get it out the fish without water dehydration sets in once it starts its very hard to reverse the process. and birds are very clever at disguising this as a lot of you will no who keep birds you take it to the vets and its to late I pray ej is not going down this road

I think/hope it's far too soon to go down that road, Tony.

Tony, EJ is a wild bird who can leave the nest at any time. She would never let it get that far. It rained this morning, which gave her a soaking, and this afternoon she took a break and came back wet. I would think she has been off for a dip and a drink, so no worries quite yet.
Meanwhile, back on the nest, nothing new to report. EJ has just been sitting, preening and napping while she waits. I'm waiting with you hun (as are we all)
A burst of calling while turning eggs, no outcome.
