Another morning and daytime was spent in stress, tension, frustration, despair...
EJ certainly had a very stressful start to the day, it's a wonder her voice didn't wear out! Intruder(s) not seen on-cam.
(Per Moffer)
When she wasn't shouting she was watching and waiting:
(Per MaryGK)
Later in the day EJ appeared to have managed a dip - let's hope that rinsed out some of the biting mites ;)
GJ deigned to turn up with clumps and/or for mating attempts, then, at 23 minutes past 7 in the evening! (should have been that time in the morning, GJ!) he arrived with a very respectable brown trout (thank you, Bucky).
(Per me)
However, EJ was gone 35 minutes max - please may she have eaten it all and not lost any.
Some discord yesterday, as everyone has their own way of dealing with what we all know to be a poor situation for our very precious heroine, EJ :-* We've been thru worse, and mutual support will carry us thru - to who knows where?

I know Moffer every little indication builds up our hopes that a fish is imminent
It has been very windy the last two days, so maybe if G. is young and inexperienced he may be finding it difficult to fish.
We simply do not know or can suggest any reasons for his behaviour, and neither do the VC, so hard as it is to observe its all we can do.

Sorry Scylla your post wasn't there when I started mine.
It is agony to watch, and I have the utmost respect for the likes of Moffer and yourself and the others who stick with EJ hour after hour, in the hope of better times.
I don't think I have prayed so much as I have in the last week. I think if the power of "willing" a fish to be delivered could happen, its what we have all been doing, each and every day.
If the forum members think I am cold and unemotional, I can say that I am not. I'm finding this every bit as hard to watch, but I keep myself in check by posting the facts. It helps me cope. We are all different, but have one common affection, and that is EJ. I do appreciate everyones view, but don't comment. If I start, I'm afraid that the floodgates will open. Just thought I ought to say that, just for the record.
I know exactly what you are saying Moffer, and its your dedication to EJ and the facts of what is happening on the nest that this DU runs on.
We simply do not know what is happening off the nest or any idea of why G. is behaving like he is. There could be numerous explanations for it.
I see that it was a brown trout he brought last night, so probably not from a fish farm eg Rothiemurchus or Aviemore Lochan, so if he is a young inexperienced Osprey which the VC are inclined to think he is, he could be struggling.
EDIT: Plus it was a whole fish, make what you will of that, I haven't a clue what to make of it all.
EJ is calling gently
The cuckoo is calling too.
Never has there been an Osprey as stoic as EJ.
I have to go for a wee while, but will check back later.
EJ is calling, a little louder
I've been out all day, and am catching up.
