What an uneventful day we just survived :o We heard that the cold weather accompanied by high winds all day prevented many birds from carrying out their usual fishing routines, and GJ was among them... until evening, when he turned up for the first time on-cam with a very fine fat headless fish.
This could be compliments of MOFFER or LIMPY, who both posted a similar batch of snaps. It shows the girth of the fish very well.
The rest of the evening was plagued with cam up-n-downs but it seems to be steady now.
EJ has looked rather doddery, maybe the windiness kept her off-balance. She has settled with a good tail portion of fish for company, only the fin showing at midnight;

Hi Starling, there was some thought that there might have been a hole in the egg shell, but nothing conclusive, I think. Which one is was in terms of laying...I don't know that either, sorry!

That was funny. He dragged the stick right over her and then stepped on her to get to it. She gets up and leaves.

well, you can have the nest then... (slightly affronted fly-off)
he he, nice and warm cossssy....

2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
And 3 out of 4 “police”-pictures ( for ID-ing if still needed ^^)

Just a few from when I got logged out and couldn't get back in. I've done 'em so I'll post 'em. Skydancing
Here's GJ. Not happy
Off he goes
He returns with a big stick ('cause he's so macho!)
and plonks it on EJ
She gets up and leaves
GJ makes a b line for the eggs
Just wondering, if the male that sky danced was actually in the cam tree earlier. EJ was glued to the tree for quite a while. She didn't make a sound at the sky dancer. Right it's 13.50 and if this doesn't post, I'll throw my toys out of the pram.
So glad your toys are still in the pram, Moffer! I'm on my way out now. Wonder if EJ will return with the remains of a whopper in several hours! :-D Bye for now.
