What an uneventful day we just survived :o We heard that the cold weather accompanied by high winds all day prevented many birds from carrying out their usual fishing routines, and GJ was among them... until evening, when he turned up for the first time on-cam with a very fine fat headless fish.
This could be compliments of MOFFER or LIMPY, who both posted a similar batch of snaps. It shows the girth of the fish very well.
The rest of the evening was plagued with cam up-n-downs but it seems to be steady now.
EJ has looked rather doddery, maybe the windiness kept her off-balance. She has settled with a good tail portion of fish for company, only the fin showing at midnight;

Hi there, CHOCO, only just seen you, sorry to have missed you :(((

Starting to flag... well, no - well into flagging now. But (I may be criticised but am amongst friends ;) ) I really was worried about EJ last last night so I'm trying to stay with her. As if it would make a difference!
Now I probably shan't last until BC time.

Goodnight, Trying, see ya tomorra ;)
Up checking the eggs again. She hasn't had any sustained rest/sleep yet tonight.
Hello my fellow Ospreyholics.
Thanks for a great start to the new DU, scylla. Thanks to everyone for all the post, pics etc since I last posted. Anyway what can I say about the delivery by George yesterday evening? In the name of goodness! That was humongous. To be fair when I was catching up on events and saw the fish, I felt further questions were in order. Has the captain's logbook been found? Was the fish a military vessel, or a merchant ship? Perhaps the initials GJ don't stand for George Junior but rather George Jumbofishcatcher.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.

Trust you to ask the questions we should have thought of yesterday, HERON :o
It's still raining, you can hear it more than see it. EJ's well wetted (spell checker doesn't like my words, too bad!) already, she'll be soaked by dawn :(
SAMPLE:
Howdy all you night time watchers! Thank you scylla for the new DU with a close watch on EJ. I think she looks okay except for the weather ickies. What a scare to think that she might have a 4th egg. Eek. That whale was half eaten when it was delivered. GJ probably thought he better eat his fill cos who knows how much she'd let him have back. I think it's great she'll have a bit of breakfast fish in the morning considering his recent habit of "sleeping in".

Now I myself am turning in for an early start to my day tomorrow...hope to check in briefly in the am to see her eating the leftovers... good night scylla, Paul, Trying, choco, and whoever else I may have missed.
Sorry but Ah cannae resist this.
Two Ospreys perched on a big branch, eating their lunch. One looks at the other, and says: "Excuse me but does this food taste a bit fishy to you?".
Currently big blobs of sluggish rain, falling at LG just now. You know the sort of stuff, that if it gets heavy, you can see it clearly bouncing off the streets. Actually quite nice to open a door or window and watch and listen to really heavy rain. Of course EJ gets to "enjoy" a huge variety of weather throughout the year.
Aww, I was just checking the SoCal barn owls so missed you, CC. If I don't see you before you set out, have a good day tomorrow :)
EJ is soaking wet now but she's at least had her head down, not fidgeting, for quite a while.
