Summary of the season so far:
Maya arrived back 12 March and Blue 33(11),on 14 March. The pair are currently incubating three eggs - #1 laid 28 March, #2 laid 31 March and #3 on 3 April.
Maya and 33 have incubated these eggs for 34 days now and in a few days we should see the first hatching of the season and another record broken!
Good morning all.
Disturbing sight.

Birdies LG DU update.
I had to slot the cam in beside LG, you see :( Not much space.
IMAGICAT
I can only guess....that Maya knew last night the wee chick not in the nest-cup was a lost cause, or I am sure she would have rounded it up. Sad, but it is what it is.
Maya has her back to us but seems to be feeding. The third chick has not moved.
As she settled back I could see the other two who are active.
OMG Not another tragedy Doesn't seem to be any movement Wonder what has happened to the poor little thing Some ofwere only saying the other day we came here to cheer ourselves up I am sure I remember Maya and 33 losing a chick last year
Looking at the chick now, it looks as if it grew normally??????

They did Patily but it was only a day or so old. These three looked so good and certainly were getting plenty of food.
This is so sad, they all seemed so healthy. And as it has been said, surely she would have ushered it back.
Two geese/swans flew over and Maya went berserk and chased after them. 33 flew in, carrying a chunk of fish, to guard until Maya flew back.
I think she's taken the fish and is feeding the chicks but cannot see properly as both adults are in the way.
Yes she is and look at those two chicks. Their heads have gone dark almost overnight.
