Summary of the season so far:
Maya arrived back 12 March and Blue 33(11),on 14 March. The pair are currently incubating three eggs - #1 laid 28 March, #2 laid 31 March and #3 on 3 April.
Maya and 33 have incubated these eggs for 34 days now and in a few days we should see the first hatching of the season and another record broken!

Just watched the feeding at around 4pm with my 101 year old neighbour - ospreys are her new obsession.
One of the three, presumably the oldest, is a feisty little thing - moved well away from the others and had a go at Maya's foot!
Cestina - How lovely to have a new obsession at 101 yrs of age! This new one will, grow and grown, tell her!
I only had around two and a half hours there today, en route back home. Both birds were around the Bay all the time. 33 was either on the nest, the camperch, the French perch near by, or on the dead fallen poplars to the right of the nest on the far bank as you look over the water. Maya took one slightly longer flight, stretching her wings, and picking up some more dead material on her return. The bobbleheads are feeding well, and as you know 33 is providing a veritable larder!
I thoroughly enjoyed my two visits, but I don't like the A1,A14,M11 bit of it! I spoke to several volunteers over the two days, some I have met before, others not, but it is lovely to be able to speak to folk who know the nest so well. Lips are tight sealed unfortunately! But I did hear Anya say there were 22 returnees, but she would not talk about pairs.
For those in the Anglia region, don't forget to watch the local ITV Anglia news at 18.00hr

Thanks very much for your on-the-spot reporting, Sheila. Brings back great memories of my visit there.
Just watched the Anglia news piece on RW!! When 33 was mantling on the nest, the two male intruders were flying above the Water, and lazily moved on. Anya did well, even if there were several takes!
Sheila - thanks for all the on-the-spot reports.
Cestina - welcome to you and your neighbour - can't think of a better new obsession :-)
Fish fest on the nest. Bobs feeding well.
Logged on to see 33 wiping his beak and a fish at the back of the nest as well as one in Maya's talons as she now feeds the chicks
the eldest two are at the front and fed first
Maya pushes through to feed #3 and gets another few pieces of fish
Sheila : Thanks for your on the spot reporting and the heads up on the ITV Anglia news clip which I watched. Anya did a great job as did all the ospreys.
