At the moment, my VLC stream is unavailable. :-/ Therefore no black+white EJ shot to begin this DU.
While people are adjusting to the new moniker, we are also adjusting to his personally unique behaviors, such as sitting on EJ and pecking her head during mating. It helps to think of them as love bites. :-D And he has a way with sticks (video by scylla). He did finally deliver a headless fish to her just before 10 am after a morning filled with begging. Probably just so he could have another go brooding those eggs. (by Korky)
Moffer captured a wonderful sequence of His Adorableness here.
And please don't miss our resident poetess Lindybird's lovely verse about our guy here.
I think we are all agreed that we have developed an affection for this guy as he gets the hang of domestic life with EJ. Treat her right, guy, and she'll give you much joy, as well as a few generations of progeny! (pic by Karen)
Oh, and the aurora borealis effect we had on the cam before dawn yesterday was explained by trevor here as mist droplets caught in the IR cam light!
I just hope we have a cam by tomorrow morning so we can see if G manages more than one fish a day! :-(_______________________________________The Daily Update is for recording nest events only, allowing for banter, though—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Thank you!

Some lovely stretches
I heard a Cuckoo just now.
EJ was up and flapping, but making contact calls, so not an intruderHe's back with what looks like a clumpEJ calls for fish
And he's gone
Three eggs. Two ospreys. One yelling. No fish.

I don't think she's eaten yet today. George is going to have to step up to the fish plate when the chicks hatch
Morning! I've been watching a catching up with the osprey world for quite a while. It's all been covered, but what the heck, I've captured a few snips
It's warmed up considerably since daybreak
11.11 EJ was sitting enjoying the sunshine, nibbling at a large stick which was within reach
11.31 and Geo arrived, fishless - and an empty crop. Surely he is hungry too?
EJ showed her displeasure. Hmmm do I dare offer to incubate...
11.34 Geo thinks better of it, and flies away
12.15 EJ checked the eggs, and called
12.49 Who, what? Nothing...
She has been quiet for a while now. Bet he's hiding again!
So we have had over 24 hours since the last fish delivery (09.53 yesterday). George hasn't eaten, he had an empty crop on his last visit. This might be a problem soon.
13.32 EJ checks her eggs and settles

Why is George SOOOO bad at realising he needs to fish The thought of what will happen if he doesn't up his game doesn't bear thinking about It would be too awful if EJ lost her chick(s) again
I can hear gun shots. Must be a clay pigeon shoot going on. EJ has heard at all before, but has GJ?
No fish, this isn't good news, I'm beginning to fear the worst here, but sincerely hope I'm wrong.
