Yesterday's Daily Update saw 18 pages of quite frankly Ospreytastic input. The young male who EJ has taken to, impressed us with two well sized fish deliveries. As we come into a new day, EJ is on her eggs but she has a slightly restless look. Perhaps we may see a third egg soon.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
00.22: EJ gets up, and turns the eggs before settling back down.
It certainly seems quite windy at LG just now. I can remember there being a fair bit of wind at LG when EJ laid her first egg of the season, in the wee small hours.
Just thinking about the new male, and what name he may be given. To be honest I'm not sure about continuing the Norse gods theme because I believe the rein of Odin should stand on its own. Personally I'd like to see a Ghaidhlig name for the new male. It'll certainly be interesting to see what he gets called.
Thanks for the New DU, Paul! Although I am thrilled that he has finally gotten the idea to bring EJ large fish, and is cottoning up to the idea that Real Osprey Males can and should incubate, I think I'd rather call him Junior until the rest of him grows up! :-D The head pecking thing reminds me of other birds who when mating grab the nape of the neck of the female. It never looks very comfortable but it seems like it is "a thing." I dunno, FWIW I guess..._______________________________________The Daily Update is for recording nest events only, allowing for banter, though—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Hi CC.
Hi Paul, you are hanging around in the latish hours tonight!
I have been in and out of hospitals in the last 4 weeks helping others and it has been playing havoc with my regular schedule! Luckily I do not have to worry about this lot. You are all carrying on magnificently! ;-)
Must make some phone calls. I'll check in laterer. EJ is in the same position as your last post.
