  • FOREST BOAR. A Lego Austin Mini.....sounds like fun.  Must look it up.

  • LINDY   Do hope you are better soon.   That bug you have seems to be going on and on.

We have been down to my cousins funeral. We put Benson into pet care on Sunday and travelled down to Linlithgow to see Mum.  She seemed much more interested in other residents goings on than in us. This was fine as it is good to see her showing some interest in anything. We then went to Bathgate where we visited my Uncle, my cousin who is over from France with her 2 daughters and also my deceased cousins husband.  Although my cousins daughters are in their 30s I don't think I have ever met them and it is a very long time since I saw my cousin.  Unfortunately she has a similar illness to that of my cousin and she now needs walking sticks and even a wheelchair to get around. The illness is genetic and my Aunt was similarly afflicted. It was sad to see her in her grief.  The funeral was 0930 on Monday morning so we stayed at a Travelodge the night before. All went very well and after joining family and friends for the light lunch provided, we left and headed home.  There was a photo of my dead cousin on the coffin. It was taken by her husband and was a reminder of what a stunner she was in her early 30s.  We had a Chinese meal with him on Sunday evening and he was bearing up very well.   Just to add to his woes my brother is suffering from a bad case of shingles which is affecting his left eye. He is wearing dark glasses and his eye is almost closed. He will be on antibiotics for some weeks yet.

  • DIBNLIB- an exhausting trip for you in several ways, I think. To see your cousins suffering, also.

I'm excusing myself from here until tomorrow. Have spent hours discussing a family problem, today. Not one of my children or nephews but my late cousin's son who seems to have been scammed out of all his life savings in the Philippines. He has been naive (age 50).

  • Oh, dear, Heather. These things happen. But I suppose all you can do is be a shoulder to confide in, and to offer advice.

Dibnlib - Sorry you've had such an emotional time. Hope you can have a rest to recover from things. Sorry about your brother, it's not good when it affects the eye.

  • Pretty sure EJ has just laid her third egg!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Evening all:  Surprise! Rained all day here, but I'm still a little foggy from the flight, etc. so we didn't have any plans.  We are definitely going out tomorrow - nowhere special, maybe a putter around the supermarket and similar.

Lynette: So sorry you're still unable to go the pool -  sooooo frustrating for you.

AQ:  Granddaughter needs to prune (love that description) Ms. D's toy box.  She has way too many toys anyway....   Do hope you guys get some rain.

dibnlib: Sounds like you hit all the bases with your trip; sorry about your brother though...

Heather:  I hate to read stories about those kinds of situations.  Poor guy.

Hi to everyone else; time to turn off the lights!

  • Beautiful morning here and I think it is due to stay that way.

  • Good Morning.  Nice to hear that you're safely established in Lincs. now, Annette.

Dry here but mixed weather is forecasted. A million things to do if we're off to Wales tomorrow afternoon. I'll have to go to the food shops before I meet my Friend after lunch, as this morning I need to attack the aforementioned h.work which has been sadly neglected. The garden is looking colourful with lots of our trees and also the neighbours trees in full blossom.

    Everyone, enjoy their day!

  • Lots of drama over on the LG nest, as was to be expected this year, with the loss of Odin. EJ never disappoints!
