Yesterday's Daily Update saw some some gripping action, including the return of sound, a couple of fish deliveries and much much more. Here's to today being a great day for EJ the Phenomenal and her mate. Here's to that young Osprey continuing to improve. I personally believe in him and think that he will get better and better. I suppose it’s hard for a young male Osprey not to be a bit starstruck by EJ.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Junior has landed. No fish, and gone. On the up side, he didn't have a full crop so he may be off to fish soon.
He arrives empty taloned. EJ advises him! Ear defenders on!!
Birdies LG DU update.
Question:
I notice EJ is up and flapping almost every time before this male appears.
Did she behave like this when Odin approached the nest?
Thanks in advance :-)

Dear EJ was so submissive, I don't recall seeing her react like that before :(
IMAGICAT
male in to mate
stays a moment at side of nest and EJ continues to call
males flies off
OMG, Junior's here for mating while EJ is sitting on the eggs.
Blimey, more rampantness!
He has flown:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Was about to reply when he flew in and caused havoc!
I think you'll find Karen that it is quite common for the females to lift off and back away when they see the male inbound with fish. Gives them a clear space in order to grab the fish which they inevitably do!

Yes Mike, I've seen almost all the female do the backward walk but not wing flapping which is what is puzzling me! I cannot recall seeing other females wing flap before the male arrives on the nest.
I am asking if this is common behaviour for EJ ie did she wing flap when Odin was approaching the nest?
