No time to prepare a detailed synopsis of yesterday's discouraging events, which included matings and intrusions (with support from male) but no fish, despite EJ leaving the nest and her egg for a couple of quite long periods.
This sums up most of our feelings (me having said that I was not worried):
===============
Edit
A couple of videos added to yesterday's DU, covering EJ's long break during which the male defended, and EJ tending the nestcup followed by a quick fly-around.
IMAGICAT
Ailie - we don't know. She was off the nest for over an hour but her crop doesn't look full
20:02 - EJ flown and quickly back
Bird just flew by towards the right
EJ still calling
Well that couldn't have been a comfort break, she'd had a poop not long ago :-/
Catchup - I'd posted !!! to remind me (had buttery toasty fingers at the time) but might as well post here.
A very quick fishless mating and off he flew. This has taken so long, it's yesterday's news ;)
Then the fine stick (have to admit), with which he banged EJ on the head >:( ... plus he examined the egg and picked at the nestcup but did not attempt to interfere with damage the egg:
A few minutes after flying he returned for another quickie mating:
Flippin' 'eck. I had a power cut, that's two in two days. Oh the joys of living in the countryside.
So glad I didn't miss a fish (fat chance of that with Master Guzzleguts) I did miss the big stick episode, and him hovering over egg. Got a vid Scylla?
EJ is still on the nest, calling for fish. Will he EVER get the notion that he has to feed her?
EDIT, thank you Scylla. We posted at the same time.... BIG stick, and you could also see his head ticking over, looking at egg.
What next? Will she lay tonight? Will he ever feed her? He has eaten again by the look of his crop.

"Look behind you!" ;-D
(I mean above you, of course.)
Wish there was some good news there, but at least the egg escaped... or I don't know, maybe the egg is preventing the fish deliveries?
I see she's closing her third eyelids a lot. Is that a sign of anything eg malnutrition/dehydration? Or, just....against the wind?

It's been the sun and the wind, Korky. I've been watching Blue3J at Dyfi doing the same thing.
I'm off for the night now BFN

Thanks Scylla. I'll stop worrying, at least about that
