No time to prepare a detailed synopsis of yesterday's discouraging events, which included matings and intrusions (with support from male) but no fish, despite EJ leaving the nest and her egg for a couple of quite long periods.
This sums up most of our feelings (me having said that I was not worried):

Edit
A couple of videos added to yesterday's DU, covering EJ's long break during which the male defended, and EJ tending the nestcup followed by a quick fly-around.

Birdies LG DU update.
Hello Scylla! Such a pity, Mike. He is quite a good looking boy, but... where's the fish, mate!

That's just what I was thinking, Sheila - see how proud he looks, too, standing on 'his' nest by 'his' woman :'(
All I can think is that he doesn't remember how his daddy performed when he was a littlun.
"I can't understand what you're saying..."
What has happened to the instinct to bring fish to a female on a nest :-((

He may be handsome but he sure is immature! I think what we have here an adolescent boyosp with raging hormones that wants no responsibility.
I wish he would move on!
LOL Scylla! EJ is alone, calling.
EJ has a poop over the side and continues to call. Is he on Odin's perch I wonder. Must be in sight, but has his ear defenders on.
