Yesterday's Daily Update saw some 370 posts, and spread to 25 pages. Trust me if you ever get the chance to read over it you will find it a great read. Not sure I could ever find the brevity to sum it up in one post.
Here's to Tuesday, and hopefully it will see EJ settle down with the most suitable male. She is on the nest just now. Quite windy at LG

Gone to night cam now and I have turned off my iPad as feel too sad to watch EJ on nest knowing there has been no fish...
Tiger and Chloe's Osprey Info
Hello.
Thanks for the updates etc. EJ on nest just now, standing next to the reject egg. Sad to hear she's not had any fish today. I think EJ needs to adopt a furiously angry mode. Sort of like The Lady of the Loch did. I know EJ is capable of this because in 2010 (my first season) she just about shouted herself hoarse, making sure Odin lived up to the high standards he set in his first season. Three very healthy young Ospreys fledged that year.
It looks as though EJ is going to stay on the nest again tonight. Isn’t this rather unusual behaviour given that she is not incubating the egg?
Likewise thank you to all for the info and pictures of this unexpected situation! I did pop in today before going out and was amazed to see EJ standing over an egg! And there she is in the same position now. I see no fish delivered, but one lad had has been trying his luck earlier! Hoping for better news tomorrow.
That's it, EJ. You get them told. No creature shall dare to disobey the EJ stare!
Thanks to all for some great captures. And still she waits for a suitor.

Trying to take as many positives as possible from the situation ............ I would suggest it may be indicative that she has not given up on the idea that she may incubate the egg in the future if one of these males proves to be dominant and establishes himself as 'the male' at this site and starts fish delivery in the near future. She obviously is aware of the presence of Pine Marten and it looks as though she is going to stay and defend the egg from them. I think going to roost elsewhere would have been suggestive that she had 'given up hope' for this egg. She has also been quite protective of the egg when a male has tried to mate by covering it with her body.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
