Yesterday's Daily Update saw some 370 posts, and spread to 25 pages. Trust me if you ever get the chance to read over it you will find it a great read. Not sure I could ever find the brevity to sum it up in one post.
Here's to Tuesday, and hopefully it will see EJ settle down with the most suitable male. She is on the nest just now. Quite windy at LG
Taken at 00.12
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
A couple more "behaviour" vids, complete with a few cam glitches.
Latest mating (successful). My quality is absolutely terrible :(
IMAGICAT
Catch up. 14.14 EJ poops on the nest
and moves to the cup to crouch over egg, not low enough to incubate
14.17 Male arrives to mate
On her head almost :(
EJ was willing
He flies around and returns
Intruder, or trying to keep his balance in the wind? The latter I think, but he kept hitting EJ in the face with his tail feathers
and he's off

Another mini poop
She is watchful
clearly not happy with someone around
and she's flown
And she's back on the nest

Thanks for that specific vid Scylla, it shows he looked at the egg, three short times even, but to my human eyes he didnt seem to be too impressed. Hmmm. Or maybe it just confirms his inexperience-ness.
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
I have to leave again, but I'm watching in the kitchen
EJ mantling/wing flapping
a screech and another wing flap

[/quote] Thanks for that reassurance - but I think you've improved it since. No, it's still way below your usual standard ;) The picture looks OK on my rather distant screen. I shall check again in case it's improved but now am wilting. I was pretty "ill" with heat problems yesterday, today started well but it didn't last and neither can I, so I'm having to sign off. I’ve given up on the Loch Garten Osprey nest webcam for now, as both on VLC and YouTube the webcam just keeps freezing all the time. I was worried about the webcam performance over the Spring and Summer months after problems with the bird-feeder webcam during the Autumn/Winter period and I think what I thought might happen has come to fruition sadly. The webcam hasn’t been up to the standards I expect, lately I’m sad to say.
Regards,
Ian.
