Yesterday's Daily Update saw some 370 posts, and spread to 25 pages. Trust me if you ever get the chance to read over it you will find it a great read. Not sure I could ever find the brevity to sum it up in one post.
Here's to Tuesday, and hopefully it will see EJ settle down with the most suitable male. She is on the nest just now. Quite windy at LG

EJ The Phenomenal, never ceases to amazed.
Laying her first egg @ ~02:25hr
IMAGICAT
With what I've totally unexpectedly witnessed in these recent minutes all I can say is:
HELP! I think I need an ornithologist! LOL
I've popped in the video above, heavily edited.
Thanks, scylla. And here was me thinking EJ was just staying on the nest overnight because of the wind.
She knows it shouldn't be there, she's not incubating it ;)
Coffee time.
Enjoy your coffee, scylla. This is Ospreycational.

I've already started projecting disruption to EJ's routine and wondering about male reactions and what will happen. Now that is daft, Heron ;)
No she isn't incubating that egg. Perhaps after initially mating with Newman, things inside her automatically kicked into action. So if they'd actually hit it off, we'd be just inside the laying zone. My relatively uneducated theory is that she has simply cleared the oviduct of an egg that is not fertile but was in there for too long. Please correct me if I'm taking nonsense.

I won't be correcting you, Heron :-* We'll wait for the eggsperts ;)
