HAPPY NEW WEEK!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Thanks, Clare - it's just a cold. My OH has had several already this year but it's the 1st time he's made me a present of one of them.
I'm on my second cold in about six weeks - very boring, 'cos I so rarely get colds. The cough which remained from the first one has now joined with a new and improved cough from the new one, so coughing like a grampus again ... so tiring. Unfortunately there is no chance of 'dropping out' for a couple of days ... it's all go! I'm trying to keep away from people, though. Not fair to share this lot with others.
Sympathies, Pat.
Another dreich morning! I thought we were supposed to see improvement from now on! OH is in the greenhouse putting first few Tomato plants in the gro-bags, and hopefully sowing a few seeds too. Another extra Finch yesterday - male Greenfinch arrived - hoping he will stay healthy.
Best wishes to LINDA and PAT for recovery from colds.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Well, the weather in Inverness is best described as 'uncertain'! From my desk I can see big black clouds approaching. This after a beautiful and sunny start to the day.
I was presented with nine tomato plants at the weekend and will now have to go and buy gro-bags. I hope that the tomatoes will taste better than the ones I grew last year. I have no idea of the variety or size of the ones I now have!
Amy has changed her mind about staying on at school - she got glowing reports at the last parents' evening and was advised to take several Highers especially Spanish. Now, she has decided to go to college and get a qualification in child care. She has been spending one day a week at the college, doing this, for the past year. Her mum is disappointed, I gather that her Dad (divorced from Mum) is also a bit miffed. I'd rather that she did whatever makes her happy! My dad was practically forced to study medicine because it was intended that he would take over his uncle's practice. He was so miserable and went off to war (WW1) as a private soldier as a way of rebelling! Then he joined the Fire service in Glasgow. I think that I see his stubbornness reflected in succeeding generations......
Sending good wishes to LINDY and PAT - hope that you both feel better, soon!
HEATHER - it sounds as if Amy is doing the best thing for her; she has tested her vocation during the past year, so must be sure of her decision. Her parents should not be disappointed - these days there are so many opportunities to return to education later if she does change her mind.
I agree, OG. parents' ambition is not the way to go. OH's grandchildren both have good degrees, one in architecture and one in fashion technology. Neither are working in those fields up to now!
I'm not sure about these tomatoes. I will probably be away for about ten days in June and will have to rely on others to water my tubs etc. Not sure if anyone would be able to come every day to water tomatoes.
HEATHER - degree outcomes can vary so much. Both our Grandson's have followed their MSc studies - Geophysics into oil industry and Informatics into computer technologies and systems. Elder Granddaughter has both her degrees in Psychology and is just about to complete her PGCE (would be PGSE in Scotland) and teach sciences in a secondary school. Younger is about to study Midwifery at university - will be interesting to see if she follows it up as a career!
I hope the Tomato plants will be successful - I would think water every second day would be enough in gro-bags - or even every third day in less sunny weather!
HEATHER Glad your granddaughter is doing what she wants. What a waste it would be if she did what others wanted, and like your Dad hated every minute of it.
Get well soon to those who are under the weather.
