Will we experience another disappointing day??? Another day, another blog, and a RSPB FB post of EJ (below). Yesterday EJ arrived first, and we were treated to a nice potter about the nest, lovely captures by many starting here (and great video by scylla). However, she was not joined by the new male. So the mystery continues with speculations of her possibly holding out for Odin, or having impossibly high standards after Odin, or simply needing better proof of a good mate other than domestic chore sharing. So far this male has missed the aesthetic importance of a good sky dance. A MALE (we are not sure it is the same or not) visited for short time after EJ left.A depressingly quiet empty nest tonight, light breeze.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild_______________________________________The Daily Update thread is for recording nest events only—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Thank you!

The necklace looked higher than New Male's, but I still wouldn't say it wasn't him. I hope we shall hear from the VC :)

Similar photos of the male from today (thanks Scylla!) and Wednesday (thanks Moffer) for comparison...
Good morning, all. You'll be pleased to know that Limpy has just seen an osprey flying in with an enormous fish. He's assuming it's EJ from the size of the fish - sadly, she's not sitting in view of a camera.
He also confirmed an earlier fly past of two unidentified ospreys.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks,Clare.
Limpy has now confirmed it's definitely EJ.
He's going to raise the question of the roving camera later today.
Great to have Limpy there for us!
I hope she comes up to the nest to pose when she's finished her fish.
