One of the highlights from yesterday was a wonderful and historical account of EJ and her legendary mate Henry, from their first season 2004. This video was created and posted by CRinger, ashe was there in the flesh that season! The second wonderful news from Les at LG was that the 2nd camera was dutifully re-installed, in the rain for 90 minutes, by the faithful LG crew! WOWee from all of us on the forum, we are all thrilled to be able to follow EJ.
Meanwhile, we are all still waiting, as is EJ, for the Prince. Speculation has it that she may have been displaying her beautifulness by fishing with the boys. We hope she snags one to bring home that will make us all proud. Right now all is quiet and dark on the nest.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild_______________________________________The Daily Update thread is for recording nest events only—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. Is it just me or is anyone else worried about the lack of male attention for EJ.

Birdies LG DU update.

Hi Bryan. I am not worried. I am a little surprised that a male has not found her and the nest yet, but think this is probably due to poor weather on migration delaying the arrival of lots of birds. The excellent thread of sightings indicates that over the last few days many Ospreys have been seen over southern and central England and therefore should be appearing in Scotland any time now. Perhaps this is also a good time to remind ourselves that way back in 1957, when Osprey numbers in Scotland were certainly in single figures, but many people were on the look-out for them, the first Osprey sighting was not until 14th April. The following year a male was sighted around the same time, but then disappeared, to reappear on 1st May and was then thankfully joined by a female on 3rd May. These 2 birds, from an extremely small population, managed to find each other and eggs were laid that season (but stolen). I will only start to get anxious about 3 weeks from now if we have not seen a male on the nest by that date. I really think I have more chance of being the next man on the moon than I have of not seeing a male on the nest by 1st May. I am happy to eat my hat if that happens, or fill in the application for space flight.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
still an ENS

Despite CRinger's reassurance, I'm worried - well, not exactly worried, but concerned for EJ, hating to see her unfulfilled, not able to get on with her raison d'etre ici ;)
To say LG is such a prestigious site, there doesn't seem to be getting much attention by anyone passing.
Peeking in on an important “issue”: i am with Cringer where it comes to Moon / hats versus Male on nest by may 1st.
(Only worried about the amount of males.)
*fingers crossed for this posting* (as connection indeed is stingy)
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
