The day or rather night started with EJ performing what became virtually an 'all night vigil' following her arrival on the nest late the previous evening in darkness after obviously sensing Pine Marten activity on the nest - the encounter brilliantly captured as usual by the amazing Scylla. She (EJ not Scylla), together with a rather unappetising tail of a fish, remained on the nest until just before dawn. The nest was mostly unoccupied during the day and we hope that the new day will bring us 2 Ospreys, preferably of different sexes and certainly 1 of them has to be EJ, getting to know each other. Hope springs eternal.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Good morning, Mary :-*

... goes hunting for a fella? That's what I was thinking, but now there's no BlueXD to spend time with - I wonder if Roy Dennis's nearby nest is in use? (I don't keep up with general osprey facts and stats, as you know.)
IMAGICAT
Morning everyone. EN presently, but deer appear to be eating as the wander through.
Scylla I believe Blue XDs old nest was occupied but not sure about 2017, cannot recall it being mentioned.
Morning Cathy.
Empty nest last time I looked.
Breakfast calls :-)
I hope EJ turns up for you all soon.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Morning all. A first for me. I've never seen a Whinchat on the nest before.
Collecting nesting material for it's own nest
Good morning all.
Birdies LG DU update.
Hi MIKE
Good morning, all. Wonder if she's fishing?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Hello DU-ers,
You are doing a great job! My cam has frozen a lot of the time.
But for now: this is my last check-in for a while. We will be travelling and staying over for the week. No garanteed commections. Of course i will be checking here, updating myself, being gratefull for your snaps!
But not sure of posting any screenshots of me own. Keep safe everyone!
SYL, xxx
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
Have a good week, Otter!
Another brief visit from the Whinchat
No sight or sound of anything Osprey.
