IMAGICAT
Love her reaction to the Pine Martin. C Ringer was discussing on Osprey Chat thread reference the intelligence of Ospreys. I replied they are intelligent but some become more street wise than others as they get older and some take a chance more than others.
Hopefully having been robbed of eggs in two consecutive years at another nest with OVS she has become wise of them and realises these are a threat.
She was only 4 years old and 5 years old them years and probably laid eggs for the first time. Next year she lost that nest to a more aggressive female and the story started at Loch Garten
Now as a wise 21 year old she will have a wise old head on her.
I often wonder what goes on inside those little bird brains, as to what they are actually thinking, feeling, remembering, what if any emotions they are feeling, etc. Certainly they are well programed to the tasks at hand.
Changing Nests - Up at LOTL today from early and left mid afternoon when the rain came down.
A few pictures.
LF15 sat on her nest.
LM12 and LF15 together - They only had brief moments like this as LM12 was kept busy dealing with a rather aggressive intruder that has been around a few days now. Both keeping watch of the intruder in the skies above the nest.
Keith, I am delighted that you decided to post pictures of your "journey". These are brilliant.
FROM FACEBOOK
EJ still on the nest - still waiting and watching.
JUNE - I thought you would have been on here excited with EJ's new boyfriend. He has been on the nest nearly 24 hours now - FOOD - STICKS - MATING and NO AGGRESSION. Looks GOOD so far.
Keith, Do you think he is one of last year's intruders?
Kind regards, Ann
