A quiet day yesterday after an early appearance by EJ... until the peace was shattered by (my interpretation) EJ's alarm-screaming as she chased an intruder with her fish. Or! What's your interpretation?
She then landed on the nest, flapping frantically for a few moments, then flew off with fish and we saw no more of her.

I would like to think that that meant we did have a second osprey at LG yesterday afternoon. Please, whoever's up there, send a more welcome visitor today ;)

According to me, the cam froze at about 21:50hr yesterday evening and the blue Carnyx screen appeared @ 22:01hr, and so it has stayed. I have emailed Carnyx.

17.04 she is back. Ian
EDIT - might have actually been a freeze for me as when I refreshed the nest was empty.
Must have flown again, ENS for me

Sheila, see my edit, I don't think she was there, instead I had a freeze. Ian
Easily done, Ian!!

"Flibbertigibbet is a Middle English word referring to a flighty or whimsical person, usually a young woman. In modern use, it is used as a slang term, especially in Yorkshire, for a gossipy or overly talkative person"
Seems a little sexist?! Don't look for origins - all gets a little sinister...

That's it!!! Well done birdsong. I had the 'sound' of the word in my head, but no idea how to put it on paper! LOL. Clearly EJ has the flighty reputation, but after all that I don't think it was the correct word at all. Just fidgety!
Re the perceived freezes - my cam went down for a short while, I got the blue Carnyx screen.
It is back up now. Ian
Osprey fly past, with fish!
Pretty sure that was EJ who just flew over the back of the nest and landed in the tree behind. If you see a white dot on it, that's her!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
