Not much I can say for now except to note that the pine marten has marked territory again on the nest yesterday. I wasn't around, but scylla captured some beautiful footage and shots of EJ leaving and coming down to the nest. I particularly enjoyed the vocalizations and her spirit, which seems not diminished in the least by the shadow of last season. We should all be so filled with the spirit of life and enjoyment of the moment! (capture by scylla)
(You may notice I have reverted to the old title, as on reflection, I think the original is just as good....if you disagree, I am open.)_______________________________________The Daily Update thread is for recording nest events only—any questions or conversations can happen on the Osprey Chat thread. I tuned in too late to see EJ so many thanks to CC and MaryGK for the captures. Having been spoilt by the clarity at Dyfi, the blurred images from LG seem a distant nightmare now we have this clear image. I remember trying to capture images from the cams which only updated every minute...
I have been entertained by the wonderful sound (the old buzzing was very trying when trying to listen for any activity) - a Great Spotted Woodpecker has often been around and Coal Tits (none seen, just heard). Lovely to see the sunshine at LG - it's been a very wet day so far in London.
Good to know EJ has caught a fish and is under the nest so will be all prepared when a suitor turns up :-)

Hiya BIRDSONG - you are on my mental list when I'm doing vids :) But you don't miss much when you are here :o
Nice early visit this morning - lots of nestcup pecks left out - watch out! she zoomed off to fish not long after she'd flown from the nest.
I do hope these snaps don't dupe anyone - not easy to avoid today :D
Do not mention the frame! Just cannot match colours :'(
EDIT - it's SO bad I've deleted it ;)
EDIT 2 - it was a "custom" frame, not the black bars above that Windows Movie Maker puts in because my recordings are not exactly 16:9 due to the timeline underneath. My old editor takes off the black bars.

Who worries about the frame with such a beautiful subject?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks, Clare, but you can't console me ;)
Got a funny tummy today, going for a lie down. SYAL.
Please let my absence bring on some unmissable action !!! It works for some people ;)
Oh dear, sorry to hear that Scylla. Keep taking the fluids, and rest.
Thanks Scylla for the capture on vid. Am I right in thinking there is no sound but clarity of picture is great.

Nothing happening on the nest except for the grass gently waving in the wind. I have no sound Lynette but maybe it is just quiet there!
Excited "screaming"... then EJ landed, flapping... flew!
