Thanks MARY Glad "Longstreak" is still around and they are able to make a pair
We visited Leighton Moss RSPB with a few other Forumates this week and one of the staff members there told us that she had held White 14 after he was ringed and that he is her favourite Osprey! Her last post before LM was at Loch Garten so she may be known to several of you. It was lovely chatting with another fan of White 14. Since Ospreys, especially from Fowlshaw Moss, have been visiting Leighton Moss recently, there is the possibility that a nest platform may be erected at LM at some point in the future.
Kind regards, Ann
Phew! just found this thread on page 6!
Just seen on Border TV that a farmer has been prosecuted for disturbing the Bassenthwaite ospreys, in 2017, by taking a group of children too near the nest. He was fined/costs of about £2,500. He was protesting that he is a conservationist and put up bird boxes but he is the one who put a platform up on his land much too near the present marsh nest, which luckily has not had much interest from the birds. His farm land adjoins that of the farmer where the nest is and I had heard last year that the LDOP were worried by his taking groups of visitors too near the nest and disturbing the birds so this instance was not a one off.
I'n not sure whether Bassenthwaite's White 14(13) has his own thread, or whether this should be on a tagging thread, neither of which I can find, so I am posting a rather old blog (21 Aug) here

Thanks, Sheila. You probably know that White 14 has spent every winter in Bioko.
Just looked at the map, Bioko is certainly a long way down the coast.
