“The Queen of Loch Garten,” we say
Note her fish-calling, chick-raising, minding the nest
And keeping intruders at bay
Why did she leave us so early last year?
We humans are eager to know
Was it just too much stress, losing all but her home?
What instinct had told her to go?
Filled with such doubts, we all questioned her fate
Would year number fifteen occur?
Then with nonchalant landing, all blind to our angst
The beautiful EJ returns!
Whoever among us was convinced that we would never see EJ again will have been thrilled to have been surprised by Her Majesty yesterday.
May she receive the strong support of a good mate that she deserves!
EJ's return, for those who weren't here:
During EJ's visit to her nest, there were hardly any bottom-of-pic glitches, as if they held their breath in honour of her ;)

Good morning all, a new day begins. I have to go to work now so will catch up after tea, although I would love to sit here and wait and see her live, have not yet.
Ian, I think I was the same yesterday, liking everything I read! Happy viewing all.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Great news to come back to, well done EJ.

Hi Lindybird, I wasn't concerned about the number of notificatons I get, more that other people might have been getting fed up with the number of "likes" from me :). Ian
Thought I'd post LG's FB post - thanking our wonderful posters for info on EJ's return
Tiger and Chloe's Osprey Info
I have been waiting here for nearly 2 hours and not seen the lovely lady yet but I am, meanwhile so pleased to see that Moffer is back. Hi MOFFER
Patily. Not seen so far this morning since I looked in at 0545.
Birdies LG DU update.
Hi Patily :) I bet she's nearby eating a huge fish.
Good morning!
No nest activity seen overnight.

Looks like turquoise is our permanent transition colour - very nice too :)
No nest activity seen this morning, as already reported by Mike - not even little birds.
Breezy again today.
Couldn't be better news. EJ is a truly remarkable bird. I don't suppose we'll ever know what happened to Odin but hope that EJ finds a good new mate for this season.
Brilliant to see EJ back - and the familiar view of the nest.
