Well folks, its been an exciting day despite the weather. The middle chick increased its wing exercising and almost went this afternoon but no, it was this evening at about 19.37pm that it fledged. Alison posted a link on the main blog. In case anyone missed it , it is: www.youtube.com-watch Its only short but it shows clearly it taking off.
At present we don't know where it is. The eldest and youngest are on the nest with we hope middle one on a tree sheltering from the wind. Only the morning will tell and hopefully when there is a fish delivery it will come back onto the nest
The eldest has had a few forays out into the big wide world also but #3 is still at home but has been practising. What will tomorow bring??

Looking in again after supper and a bit of tele. Thanks for all the updates and pics, great as usual.
Yes, it is very confusing at the moment. I think all three are on the nest, one facing the camera, one facing to the horizon, and one inbetween the two with only the tail end showing. Its too dark now to tell whos who, better in the morning!!!!!!:
I'm with you on the mushy brains, Paul, it's all part of belonging to the Losing the Plot Club.

Hi Paul. There was a lot of wing-flapping and skittish activity then a flight. I thought it was #3 but as I said above, its difficult to be absolutely sure and then doubt creeps in.
Come to think of it, looking again it seems there are only two on the nest. Its a wing of the one facing the cam that I thought was a bottom. Silly me.
Lynette, I thought last night that there was a third youngster, but it was only a sticking up wing, and I think that's what we have here. Haven't seen a returning bird since these two were upright. (So to speak...)

I agree Paul, it's just so frustrating not to be able to recognise the difference between #2 and #3 - a satellite transmitter on #2 would have helped!!
If I've got it right this time, that means #1 is out and about or on the cam post and it is #2 and #3 keeping each other company.
Yes thats right Lynette. #2 and #3 seem very close. Its a lovely peaceful scene on the nest and the wind seems to have dropped for now.
I'm with Terry and Paul, in the LTPC!!! lol
lovely to see 2 on the nest now:)
Possible identifications ???This sequence was taken earlier today around lunchtime.
