Well folks, its been an exciting day despite the weather. The middle chick increased its wing exercising and almost went this afternoon but no, it was this evening at about 19.37pm that it fledged. Alison posted a link on the main blog. In case anyone missed it , it is: www.youtube.com-watch Its only short but it shows clearly it taking off.
At present we don't know where it is. The eldest and youngest are on the nest with we hope middle one on a tree sheltering from the wind. Only the morning will tell and hopefully when there is a fish delivery it will come back onto the nest
The eldest has had a few forays out into the big wide world also but #3 is still at home but has been practising. What will tomorow bring??

Thanks, Tiger & DjoanS. Have read it, and we are still wondering.
I'm going to stick by what I have said, that I think it was # 2 on the video clip, and that # 3 has been practising too much today for it to be him, if he can already fly. When they all leave the nest together, we shall at least know that they can all fly!
EJ arrives with FISH!
Well, I am so glad they don't know either. I will stick to my own convictions in future. Heaven knows we have been watching this nest long enough.
...one chick tries to remove it from EJs claws - then 2 others arrive (1 & 2??)-
now there's a free for all!
Fish delivery ... by Odin ... #3 grabbed it ... #1 and #2 flew in .... and Greedy Guts grabbed the fish from #3... I think ... and isn't sharing!
EDIT - sorry ... it was EJ ... had to be her with a fish that size :-))
Blimey - it's all happening, EJ arrives with fish:
EJ has flown off and left them to it! Tug of War between two of them!
EDIT - Think its #1, 'Greedy' that has taken the fish now & is mantling over it!

The mind is like a parachute, it doesn't work if it's not open.
Its a whopper of a fish ... #1 is having trouble coping!
