RSPB have advised the live stream is to go live this weekend so it shouldn’t be too long now until we get our first glimpse of the nest.

Hopefully we’ll see the beautiful EJ return soon to her nest and long may she reign.
But until then, a thread to record all our observations until the ospreys arrive and the DU starts.
Thank you for your local weather reports, Alison and Pam - one illustrated with a lovely photo, the other with descriptive words :)
Thanks for the Jay link, MIKE :) I really thought it must be a Something Jay, not just a Jay, but there ya go :-/
I haven't found any more visitors, it's nap time here now :)

YOW. Hello scylla and everyone!
Fantabulous VLC camera resolution, my first 2018 view of LG. Had to majorly adjust the audio though.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild

Comparing this and last year's view, we can even see the mountain summits in the far distance (covered in snow just now!)

I was just hearing repeated high pitched cheeps that made me think of skydancing, but they didn't have quite the lilting quality...sorry, did not capture the sound.
cam has gone down.
But I am sure Peter said they will be working on bits and bobs over the next few days so perhaps we should expect some downtime ??
Judging on past history we should expect some downtime whether Peter will be working on bits and bobs or not.
I wonder how they're getting on at Lowes?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

This has become one of my favorite photos of EJ. It was her first fish after staying on the nest for days with the chicks and no food, until there was no reason to stay on the nest any more. :(
None of us wants to commemorate the sad events of last year, but to me this photo shows EJ's physical strength, perseverance, and determination under extreme pressure. I'm not counting her out until I have to. :)

Me neither, Pandy :) I expect we all feel the same. I still can't get my head around her early disappearance last year.
I've been sitting watching the empty nest for nearly an hour - when I take my eyes off it a glitch soon draws them back - was that a landing? *eek*.
It's a grey morning, no wind?
No nest activity found overnight.
