The purpose of this thread is to record the day-to-day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2018 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
Details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Last year we were thrilled to see both Maya and Blue 33(11) return within hours of each other on the 22 March and I am sure I speak for us all in wishing them both a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
and back
And back but no sign of Maya!
I just cannot sharpen the blue ring to be able to read it.
I have 3 editors, 2 have crashed!
IMAGICAT
Must remember that 25(10) is an early bird too, blue ring and usually pays a visit to MB. Last year she was the first osprey back to RW
But I so hope this is 33 ...
This was the first 2 landings (I think - but I was troubleshooting SWT).
I don't suppose there will be anyone in the VC?
This is the same video from Cam2:
It looks like a bloke to me:
It doesn't look like a 'gerrrorff' mantle to me. More like 'hi, but I'm posturing, because' just like Odin and EJ do! Well caught Scylla! I do so hope it is 33, but in all honesty I don't know.
A snip I took 4 April last year.
