The purpose of this thread is to record the day-to-day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2018 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
Details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Last year we were thrilled to see both Maya and Blue 33(11) return within hours of each other on the 22 March and I am sure I speak for us all in wishing them both a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
Quick visit before I have to go out again! Thanks for all the updates and captures.
Maya still on the nest just looking around.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I wonder if 30(05) has set off yet?
She usually starts her homeward journey 10/11th March.
Hopefully an update soon as it will be interesting to know where she is!

Birdies LG DU update.
Hi Mike How disappointing she's gone
I had to sign in and it didn't do it automatically as it usually does and I had forgotten my password. Ages since I've had to use it
Back on the nest. Ian
EDIT - gone again
Patily, Welcome back. Re: signing in--at some point over the winter it seemed as though a switch had been flicked and since then I have to sign in far more frequently than previously. Seems like every few days. No idea why that is--sorry.
Kind regards, Ann
