It's finally March and our birds will start to return this month.
BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Alicat. There is no live streaming from Loch Garten at the moment. There will be none until the camera is set up on the Osprey nest within the next week or so. The link to the feeder cam went down and will not be restored as the equipment is U/S.
The nest cam is a totally separate entity.
Birdies LG DU update.
Ok thanks mike
Well, the excitement has started early this year. Maya has arrived at Manton Bay, her earliest ever return! In fact, she's the first osprey known to have returned before March 16th. Welcome home, Maya!
Is there any news of Lake District Osprey Project's Bassenthwaite's White 14 or any other LDOP Ospreys, please? The last blog on their website was early October 2017.
Kind regards, Ann
Odd, it seems the blogs on the Rutland OP website since January 22 have disappeared. Hope it is just a glitch which will disappear overnight and the blogs since will be restored by tomorrow. Even clicking on today's link about Maya on their Facebook page produces a page declaring 'Whoops! That page doesn't exist anymore'.
Hi, On March 8th it was reported that White 14 was still in Bioko. I hope he is on his way by now though, and maybe he'll get a nest at last!
It would be interesting if he turned up at Loch Garten, wouldn't it?

I had found that problem too, Ann. No idea why. I thought perhaps it was because I was out of the country last week, but even y'day I could not open the link to the return of Maya. 404 Error. But I have just tried again, and hey presto it works! Let's hope it remains so!

I do not think that is very likely.

[/quote]I realise that, but these are ospreys we are talking about.
