Good Morning. No frost here but there's a bitterly cold wind, my OH says. Snow ahead this week for many parts of the UK.
Lynette, what a shame your meds have not had much effect. Hope you can get to see the Doc today and they can get you some relief.
Hope that everyone else is feeling OK, and that OG has enjoyed her time away.

"Wake up, Mum, I think I see a tiny beetle!"
Good morning - was too tired to report safe arrival yesterday! I found the journeys difficult - travelling makes my oedema worse which makes me extra tired - and BTW also makes me look worse than ever in event photos! It was a good party - caught up with old acquaintances - Daughter's friends - and even ex-Son-in-Law who introduced me to his new wife - good to have met up at informal event before Grandson's wedding next month.
ANNETTE - sorry that you had to say goodbye to Lightning, but the time comes when letting go is the right thing to do, and she had a happy and comfortable life with you.
LYNETTE - sorry the antibiotic hasn't made your leg any better - hope you can get an early appointment and get referred for more effective treatment by injections or AB drip.
LINDA - sorry the travel agent doesn't sound very helpful - perhaps you just need to nominate a two week rest from trying, and then start again, looking at new brochures with fresh eyes. Good luck.
EVERYONE - have a good week, and stay out of weather danger if it comes your way - remember, essential journeys only!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hello all -
LYNETTE - I hope that you will see your GP today and that good decisions are made regarding the treatment of the cellulitis.
OG - good to hear that you had a pleasant time away but sorry about the journey and the effect that it had on you.
Things are a bit upside down here - Callum witnessed a fatal road accident yesterday and the lad that was killed was one of his friends, only 20 years old. The driver of the other car seemed to be unhurt. I can only imagine what the parents of his friend are feeling. Callum was still in shock several hours afterwards and was brought home to his Mum by an extremely kind and caring police officer.
Heather - So sorry to hear about Callum's awful experience. Witnessing a fatal accident is bad enough, but must be so much worse if it's someone you know. Glad there was a caring police officer to help him with the initial shock. It will take him a while to get over it, but he has a loving family who I'm sure will help and listen to him as he works through everything. Prayers and warm thoughts to him and to all of you.
OG - pleased you manage to catch up with old friends, but sorry the journey was such a trial. Hopefully this will get easier with time - and again hopefu lly the new car will help.
Lynette - hope the doctor can give you something to ease the cellulitis - so miserable for you.
We've had the first lot of snow this morning. It settled for a while but the sun has now melted it away. I thought it was a good idea to go shopping this morning so I could hibernate for the rest of the week, when the forecast is awful. Unfortunately everyone else had the same idea! I did manage to get everything I needed, though. Couldn't believe the bad temper displayed by so many people ... particularly in the car park. It was a case of going with the flow. We were all stressed, but I'm sure those blowing their top were more stressed than I was. I tried to smile at everyone - and sometimes got a response.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
HEATHER - sorry to see Callum had such a shocking experience. Sadly the memory will stay with him a long time. but I am glad the police officers treated him with kindness.
Heather - What an awful shock for Callum. And how truly terrible for the parents of his friend. Thank goodness the police had the good sense to bring him home themselves.
It's been trying to snow, here, but failing. I've begun packing as we're off on our annual jaunt to The Canaries in about ten days. It seems to have come around quickly this year even though we're not leaving until March is upon us.
After two visits including one almost hour long meeting with our travel agent, and several phone calls, we have now rebooked our cruise with the same company. Sis in law was incandescent that we could use them, but the same cruise leaves again on a later date and there is nothing else available which even resembles the same trip: I've looked at hundreds, and we even considered a holiday in a resort, but my OH offered to take us on a weekend away on my birthday in addition which means that we can then sail later. We're not excited or anything as it's been spoiled now, but are relieved to have finally resolved the whole thing. (There were only 3 cabins left on the entire ship for this, which shows how popular they are and how time is of the essence.)
HEATHER How dreadful for Callum.
We have had another lovely sunny day. We had brekkie at Mountain Cafe in Aviemore. I had the veggie breakfast and OH had a huge bowl of porridge with blackberry coulis and vanilla orange segments, delicious. We then walked the whole way round Loch an Eilein taking 2 hours as there are always lovely people who want to pass the time of day. This is the first time I have done this in over a year as my achilles tendinopathy was too painful before. I am obviously on the mend.
LINDA - glad you made a decision before the autumn plan spoiled the Canaries trip - I hadn't realised you were doing that holiday as well this year!
DIBNLIB - pleased the heel managed the Loch an Eilean walk - I know that means a lot to you.
