Some pics from when our grandsons came to visit last week: we took them to the park although it was a cold wind, and we went to see the ducks etc. although we had no food for them.
Tomasz looking at them and trying to identify: he has a bird book already, so I gave him a Garden Nature Book to add to his collection now that he's old enough to understand.
I warned him not to put a hand out towards the swans. They came to see if we had any food, anyway.
I was pleased that he knew a goose when he saw one!
The bars protecting the birds got in the way, but I kept trying to get some pictures!
Swans are so elegant.
This one obliged by lifting his or her wings for me.
Lovely photos, Lindy. I bet Tomasz really enjoyed seeing the birds!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
LINDY Thanks for those wonderful photos.
CLARE I feel like you and cannot understand peoples' attitude towards herring gulls. I think they are amazing birds.
Goodness gracious me! It is cool this morn, only 19 C. I can hear the corellas squawking in delight.
I like the pics, Lindy. You and Clare post lovely photos which are always good to see.
Glad you have been able to book a replacement cruise, but I can understand why the excitement has gone from it. I hope your travel agents can get you a few extras, like doubling that on-board credit! I'm thinking wine!.
I am rather distracted at the moment, as we have two different family problems, both long distance, unfortunately.
I know there are several sad things happening on here at the moment. Sending best thoughts to all affected.
Thank you Rosy. Some free wine would be nice! My Friend says get a cabin upgrade, but I'm not holding my breath.....
We have had some family problems of late, most of which are now resolved. Another reason we are glad to be going away soon, as it's been a stressful time for a few months. It's so hard when it's long distance, the phone is just not enough. I could do with a Tardis or something! Hope your problems with family are short lived.
Edit: My OHs "snuffle" has turned in only a few hours from not much, to a sneezing, coughing headachy cold.
AQ - Glad it's a bit cooler for you now. I did pack up some snow to send to you, this morning!
Today it's been zero degrees centigrade, here.... Minus 5 predicted for tonight!
Lindy - how nice for your grandsons - lovely pics.
OG - probably wise thing to do about tomorrow, stay safe and warm
Finally we have a dusting of snow which most had gone by the end of the day but it is snowing on and off tonight and more snow covering the ground. Will have to see how it is in the morning for dau. to get to work.
Saw a nurse practioner at our other surgery (roads were clear) and wasn't too impressed by her. Just prescribed another type of antibiotic to try which I will start tomorrow Have to see someone at our surgery on Friday for another assessment but so far have not had to go in for an intravenous injection. Leg still pretty sore and swollen, fine when resting but also told to get up and walk about for circulation (which I have been doing). Looks like its going to be a slow recovery.
AQ - glad to hear it has cooled down over there, shall we send some of our Siberian blast to you!!!!!
