Earlier I posted the latest position for Blue LH0(17) 640 (from Clarach's first nest in 2017) who is still enjoying life in Heulva, Spain. I then realised it was still the 2017 thread. So I am reposting on this 2018 Aberfoyle thread. Or should Blue LH0(17) be on the Satellite Tracked Ospreys thread, rather than on the 2018 Season?
The link to the 2017 thread is here, and I will repeat some of Mary's start to that thread:

I have let myself be convinced by regular Osprey camwatchers- specialists that this is the same male as last year?!
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
I think Clarach's behaviour around him is possibly the best indicator of his identity. If she's happy, I'm happy.
I'm not sure if the RSPB are involved with this nest - I can't remember their having any presence there when I visited last year. Emyr Evans of Dyfi visited, though, and one of the staff I spoke to was still grinning when she recalled how excited he was!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Ah yes, thanks Otter. This year's RSPB person at Aberfoyle is called Amy who's worked at the Loch Lomond Reserve, but I think she may be part time, as previous RSPB folk there have been
A wet morning with Clarach
(c) Aberfoyle Ospreys
Clarach waiting in the rain, watching around her, occasionally calling
[edit:] snap Korky :)
She's been very vigilant watching something below. If it was the male with a fish she'd be calling I guess.
The weather isn't conducive to fishing however
She's been doing a bit of nestoration
We slipped to page 2 but we're still here
Korky , is this Clarach's mate from last year, would you know ?

Hi Cirrus. I think no-one knows (other than Clarach)! As others have said, the male last year wasn't ringed and neither is this guy, but I think from observation, Clarach was quite accepting of him from the start, so it's rumoured to be him. That seems to be the view of various posters!
