Thanks Ian.
There is an update about the camera on the WT page. They have not given up hope that the live stream will return this summer, but I personally would be surprised if it did. There is also a bit about how the Pine Marten most likely got to the eggs & more positively news that Louis & Aila continue to bond. Ian
Thanks, Ian. Hope they stay together and both return next year.
Kind regards, Ann
Goerge from the WT has posted
"Just to let you know we have a blog which should go live tomorrow giving an update on the Loch Arkaig camera, ospreys and pine martens. Look out for it! My lips must remain sealed but we have solved two mysteries and have a bit of good news to share."
Pure speculation on my part, maybe the good news is about funding for the camera in 2019
Ian
.
Thanks, Ian, funding for the camera would be good but even better would be news that the resident Ospreys are still around! Let's hope for both to be true!
Hi Ann
The reports I have seen on the WT chat page suggest that they have been around.
That's great--thanks, Ian!
The link below is from the WT blog posted today. This includes the news that a nearby (2km away) nest has one healthy chick from a clutch of three eggs. No mention of 2019 so my speculation about the camera was way off the mark. Ian
Thanks for posting the link Mike. Good to see Loch Arkaig had one chick this year. And an interesting read about their anti-pine marten efforts!
Thank you Ian S for the link.
