Glad you liked the scooter, OG!
ANNETTE- Yes I heard about the computer generated share selling. Good luck with the roses. Mine are beginning to show some shoots but there are also lots of baby weeds around. No point in hoeing when the ground is so wet, they will just reroot. Hand weeding when Spring arrives, methinks.
Just sitting watching MASH on True Entertainment...... we often pop in to see them, a half hour of laughter is the best medicine.
Been chucking out all kinds of bits of paper - found some receipts from the year 2000!!
Glad there's progress on the scooter, OG.
Diane: My iPhone reminder failed (I probably didn't 'save' what I input) and came in from the garden exasperated, but hurray! Just in time to watch the (even later) 3:45 ETD. The website has just gone live: http://www.spacex.com/webcast. It's sooooo different from the NASA, etc broadcasts - all those celebratory employees hooting and hollering!
Annette: That was awesome!!! So special to see that massive craft go airborne.
Yup, they delayed the launch twice because of high winds. I'm glad you got to see it. And wasn't the recovery of the boosters also wonderful? I love science!
Diane: I was holding my breath! What an amazing accomplishment and the return of the boosters couldn't have been more dramatic if a special effects expert had orchestrated it! Truly breathtaking. It was like watching the very first space shots all over again. :-) Wonder how long we'll have to wait to hear about the landing on the raft....
Annette: That was truly a big step forward for humanity. So nice to see progress being made somewhere. I actually had tears. LOL Woo-hoo!
Sorry haven't been for a while. Last Thursday I realised that I was coming down with a cold. Friday - Sunday told me this is NOT a clever idea with asthma. Did have some extra help from younger SD. Yesterday and today have been trying to come down to a cold Nearly feel normal, I reckon another two days are needed. I have got through three 'man' sized boxes and on fourth.
Has anyone recognised that the BBC have now changed from the Met Office to MeteoGroup. UK its now a flat map and you Scottish folks now have a larger Country!!
Diane: Indeed. And all those young people so excited about such an accomplishment - surely that must carry some weight with those in the Flat Earth Society! Ya think? (Or was it just "fake news?) :-))
Missed the launch, but saw the item on The News, that the rocket got off successfully. Yay!
ForestBoar - I saw the introductory item about the Weather bulletins being improved. At first, we laughed as we don't usually like their idea of "improvements", but then I noticed firstly that The UK is once again a green and pleasant land, and then that Scotland had miraculously reappeared, LOL!!
Edit- We used to say "Here comes the flying cowpat" as it was shown as dung coloured.
Good Morning. A very cold night here: our garden is white with frost. It snowed all afternoon yesterday, but only tried to settle on the bushes.
Sorry to hear that there are reports of a big decline in the numbers of hedgehogs in the countryside.
My OH is off to help his sister again this morning, so the decorating will have to wait. Before we went away at the weekend, he had to repaint the ceiling as it looked patchy, so progress has been slow. We hope to go at it between now and the weekend! Meanwhile, I'm off to do errands and then have lunch out with my Friend.
Have a good day, everyone.
