My first look made me think that it was, then I looked again & wasn't so sure. Now that you mention it I am now reverting to thinking it is ringed. Ian
To this amateur's eye.... it looks ringed (silver on left leg?) Great photo!
I thought the same Sheila, Ian, Lisa. In fact I think it may have a blue ring on the right leg. I've just downloaded the photo in order to enlarge it and although no clearer I still think it has a Darvic as well as a BTO one.
Birdies LG DU update.
I agree Mike, just blown pic up on my tablet but cannot see any readable code on Darvic ... so where from being ringed on right leg?

Wendy, I think the only thing we can say is "not from Scotland" with the darvic being on the right leg. Ian
Thanks Ian!
As El Hondo is a reserve area perhaps we may get another sighting/photo. It would be good to get the bird identified if possible.
El Hondo
24th February Hondo North Gate
Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)
I had a 'memory' of a post I did on FB on 27 February 2011 which read:
The first osprey was sighted near Powderham Castle, Devon on 22 February - yes the rollercoaster ride of another season with the osprey is not far away!!!
I wonder whether 2011 was an early year, or whether 2018 is a late one.
