BEST WISHES for a PROSPEROUS, HEALTHY AND HAPPY 2018 for all Gabbers and fans of the historic Loch Garten Osprey Nest and other osprey followers.
So they say, Keith! And welcome back to the Forum! Any news of White 14? Were you on Bioko again this winter?
Kind regards, Ann
I did not go out to the Alba Gas plant on Bioko Island Equatorial Guinea this winter.
White 14 is on his way north.
Thanks, Keith. Do you know how far White 14 is on his journey home?
Nice picture, but no EJ. I check in several times a day - and night - but have not seen her once since the picture I posted soon after her arrival. I assume she is still in the area and has been seen, pictured & discussed on other threads. I will check these out when I get a chance.
It"s a different story at Manton Bay. Someone almost always is at home., with frequent action - mating or coming and going or just movement about the nest a in this picture.. Come to think of it, I haven't seen much nest building. Maybe everything is already arranged to their complete satisfaction. ........

June, Don't forget that Maya and 33 at Manton Bay Rutland Water have been back a long time (12th and 14th of March!) and they have been bringing in sticks and hay from the start. There are other Ospreys at Rutland Water and they need to assert their possession of the nest, not to mention that Maya probably will lay the first egg any day now. Reports about Loch Garten have occasionally reported that EJ is spending time on a perch below the nest. She has no need actually to be on the nest unless there are intruders or if a suitable male shows up!

Great! For the first time since she came back I find EJ at home on the nest. She is still standing in her "watching-for-Odin" position.
