  • Clare - great to see some more of your lovely photographs.  I have missed them.

Heather - could you please send your family down to cook me a repeat of that delicious-sounding meal?  Sounds wonderful.

  • I have remembered that chillies were involved, home grown ones from youngest daughter. Also bamboo shoots, from a tin! I had a quiet day yesterday so didn't look in the dining room. This morning, went to vacuum  in there and found chopsticks and a solitary grape on the floor, under the table. So little Isla wasn't as dextrous as I thought!

  • HEATHER   Think I missed your birthday, sorry. Sounds like you had a real feast.

We had a lunch out at "The Dairy" and very good it was too.

  • Sorry CLARE missed yours too.

LINDY   Ditto,   Happy Anniversary to HM and the Duke.

  • A few more photos here - click on this flying beauty to see the rest:

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Thank you Clare. Clearly a good day out.

  • Thank you, Clare.  I particularly like the rear view of the landings ... not quite as graceful as the front or side views, but so much more 'real'.

  • We are just back from seeing Paddington Bear 2. It really is a fabulous film for all ages.

  • Oooh! Heather - what a mouthwatering menu. It all sounds totally yummy, and a very sensible way to spend a happy family celebration.  So pleased to hear that you had such an enjoyable birthday.

OG:  Guessed that you must be busy, and that pc access might be limited!

Clare: Been peeking at your pictures, and they are all wonderful.  You capture the landings very well, not easy I know!  You must both have had such a good day that day, and somewhere for you to look forward to returning to, as well.

We went out to get my OHs Chr. present, from me:  he requested new trousers, and I would not dare buy them without him, in case he didn't like the colour or something.  So it was off to M&S to get two serviceable, "everyday" pairs.  It only took 15 minutes to choose them, and he is a stock size there, so no problem.  I also got myself two pairs of trousers, (I only needed one, but will take the least attractive pair back, later).  Sent him back to sit in the car for half an hour whilst I bought him some Chr. socks and went into the Food Hall.  The whole place was pandemonium, as it was the last day for a special offer on clothes, so the queues were horrendous. Got talking to the lady next to me in the queue and she would not shut up!! -  -  now, I am chatty, and will talk to anyone about anything, but she was something else......  It was quite a relief to get to the cash desk!!

Tried on my trousers on getting back home, and sure enough, one pair are fine and one pair look as if they're someone elses, so back they go.

Oh, good - we're going on Wednesday, so looking forward to that, now.
