HEATHER Yes, a cold day for us, but beautiful. Swam and coffee with a friend earlier. Benson has been out for his 2nd walk of the day. Wonders will never cease!!!. The freezer is fully defrosted (one of my all time hateful jobs) And ready to be filled again. OH should be home from work in an hour or so, and if he wants to go to Simpsons for a cake, that is fine by me.
HEATHER Sorry, I forgot to say that is great news about your Grandson. Very well done to him.
Great news about your grandson, Heather! -- well done, him. I think it makes for a much happier life if you can manage to do something for a living which you enjoy.
Been out and bought ingredients for a big pot of slow cooked beef stew, so that whatever time our son gets here, he can enjoy a hot dinner. It's almost impossible to predict what time you'll reach your destination on a road trip these days.
I did an awful thing, yesterday - I was reaching up, hanging a damp shirt up on the curtain rail to dry out, when I stepped back -- onto Bonnies tail!! - she yelped, and jumped back, then looked at me with such a hurt expression that I had to get down on my knees, hug her and beg forgiveness!! She looked rather put out for a while afterwards.
Crossed posts with you, Dibnlib, glad Benson enjoyed his walks!
Good news about your grandson. Heather. It is great when a young person can get a good qualification.
Went to local Waitrose this morning. A lot of people about. Black Friday (sounds so depressing) events everywhere. Not for what I wanted, though.
I had been looking for a gold chain for months, and popped into local jewellers and found what I was looking for. My sister had already given me the money, for a present.
Rosy: Interesting Black Friday has caught on over there since here it's typically the day after Thanksgiving, which you don't celebrate in the UK. Still, leave it to the marketers to maximize any opportunity for profits....
Heather: Hurray for Callum. Our grandson started off working on cars; now works on diesel bus engines for a tour charter fleet and plans (hopes?) to start his own mobile truck repair (roadside repair on those huge semi trucks) at some point... Have fun with the girls
OG: More quiet days on tap for the weekend.... :-) Maybe I'll go say Hi to the ocean, but no promises....
Heather B said: PS Grandson Callum has been away at college all week in England, have just heard that he has passed his final Audi apprenticeship exams. I'm so proud of him, it is what he always wanted to do.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks, everyone. Callum is a practical lad and will do well.
Harelady: Peter Tork was adorable, and he still is. I saw an interview with him last year when he and Mickey Dolenz released a new album celebrating 50 years in the music business.
I'm glad you got to see Gillian Anderson live -- in the play. She's one of my favorite actors. She is not only talented, but she's very principled and courageous in her values and politics, so I respect her for that.Good luck with the car. I had to spend $1300 on my brake system this summer. OUCH! I hope your car repairs didn't cost so much.
Oh Diane: I can hear the screeching (you, not the brakes) from here.
