I agree, OG, now that I've had time to think about it.
Lurker here...
Heather love the idea of a new tree and bought with the best of intentions.
Snow here today and as I have said before wish I could post pictures although two of you have seen them on FB...Daisy quite enjoyed her 2 walks but that I think is down to her new Equifleece which keeps her tummy dry and warm and dries on seconds.
Log burner failure here as it needs a new part which is on its way from Cromarty. We have central heating but love the burner as we are open plan with the doors open our radiators cut off. Daisy is sulking as she loves to luxuriate in front of it.
Wendy - after our recent conversation about Larch trees, I thought of you when we drove through to Langholm yesterday - lots of young Larches still holding their leaves/needles - looked like golden Christmas trees on the hillside.
BTW, we were lucky to get home from Langholm last evening - an hour later a large mobile crane jack-knifed by the skew bridge and has continued to cause chaos as they attempted to remove it today!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG I love a Larch as it does colour. starts of fresh green then grown up green and then golden in the sun... needles though a pain as they walk on everywhere.
Evening all: Friend out of hospital this morning after nasty upset - docs say maybe something she ate? Anyway, went to visit and had a natter.
Thanks for Thanksgiving wishes Diane and everyone. It's not a holiday I'm "invested" in (not that I'm "invested" in most of them.) :-) Daughter, granddaughter and Ms. D went for dinner at home of Ms. D's former kindergarten teacher - a woman with a huge family and ever-open doors who loves to cook and entertain (sounds like Heather!). Grandson off with partner's family, which is fine. I've just had a nap and a nice read in the garden after tidying up a potato vine that has been sorely neglected this last year; lots of dead bits now gone. Must hose down and put assorted yummies out for token Txgiving dinner. Lovely quiet day. Just what I needed.
Heather: I Googled weeping cherry - it looks gorgeous in the spring.
OG: Also Googled photos of Larches and see what you mean. Lovely! Granite Peak Park in Prescott is in full Autumn gold with masses of either Cottonwood or Quaking Aspens; couldn't confirm which. Up the road from our house there's a three-block area full of gorgeous red/orange Liquidambers.
Anyway, off to shower. Have a good Friday all.
Good morning - weather looks promising this morning. Optician for me at lunchtime, so may miss afternoon fellowship meeting at church (not a business meeting, I hasten to add!). Used yesterday well - sorting wardrobes and flinging - not as much as I would have liked from OH's tee shirt collection!
ANNETTE - "lovely quiet day" sounds wonderful - have a few more through the weekend!
Good Morning, All. Dry here after a night of cold winds.
Must go and Google larches, after the above conversations....
A busy day ahead for me, as Eldest arrives tonight and his bed is covered in Christmas shopping! Have a good Friday, and look forward to the weekend, Everyone!

Hello all
A lovely bright day here but cold (for us!) I just looked at the weather radar, though and another clump of stuff is on its way here.
I need to go to Tesco for some essentials so must shoot off in a minute. Elgin granddaughters are coming here for a sleepover tomorrow, first time on their own. I will have to have crisps and other naughty things ready to hand! I'm taking them out to lunch tomorrow, then shopping and finally, Spaghetti Bolognese here in the evening (their request). Sunday breakfast request involves chipolata sausages and eggs - boiled for one with toast soldiers and fried for the other! They have both gone off bacon recently - no doubt I will have some to hand just in case. As you do....
Enjoy your son's visit, LINDY. I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet but I confess, get it very easy since I just ask the Mums what their children might like.
Have a good day, everyone
PS Grandson Callum has been away at college all week in England, have just heard that he has passed his final Audi apprenticeship exams. I'm so proud of him, it is what he always wanted to do.
