Lindy I gave it a 5....
Kenneth Branagh is a bit like Micheal Caine a bit all the same...
Loved the snow scenery but it was a bit like Polar Express but in black and white..
But at least we get tickets cheaper :-))
It’s much cooler, 19 C with 100% humidity. I can hear the patter of little raindrops on the roof. Busy day ahead, food shop, eye appt, nanny duty.
Hi all. Will catch up with your news shortly but just wanted to say: Annette - just been watching Rick Stein on his way through California down to the Mexican border. Went through the Santa Barbara area and down to San Diego, is that anywhere near you?

Harelady,
I had a second cousin, unfortunately never met him, who fell nr. Ypres in 1917 so was remembering him (17). It was very cold Sunday.
AQ - love those sheep sculptures etc. Pity about the headstones - mindless people who have nothing better to do.
Glad you saw the centre of Lisbon, Lindy. Never did see it as the school group I was in took the coastal train down to Estoril to the beach for an hour or so. Just loved cruising down the Tagus past the Belem Tower and Henry the V11th Navigatior's monument - mind you that was over 50 years ago. Much as I wanted to do it again on our cruise it doesn't take in Lisbon as it is down to the Azores and on to the Caribbean. Oh well, wishful thinking.
We had a quite moving Rememberance day service. Our Minister's wife led the worship and close to the end (we had all been given mini tea lights as we came into church) we went up , had them lit for us, and then placed them on the communion table with the candle that had been lit for the whole of the service. Remembering those we love and lost etc.
Managed a short swim today. Annoyed with vet as they say they couldn't give us our cat's tablets until she had another blood test to see if the higher dose is working (thyroid trouble) Dau pointed out that we weren't told that this was coming up after 1 month's higher dosage so hadn't budgeted for it. Tomorrow I am going to have to ring them and point this out. If they still won't prescribe tablets she will have to go a month without them until I can manage the cost. Not cheap going to a vet's these days. Rant over.
Evening all: Just spent an hour reading books with Ms. D.
Heather: Forgot to say it will be nice for you to see your Danish friends. There are a couple of jacaranda trees in SoCal. I like is the one where the entire tree (well, not the trunk!) turns purple. Amazing.
Lynette: Yes, we're in Santa Barbara.
OG: Those kinds of tears are so frustrating coz there's no way to fix them without it looking obvious. Will try to get back to setting things to right tomorrow.
Lindybird: Had to laugh when you said "without giving too much away" when describing Murder on the Orient Express. It's such a well-known ploit, but now I can't remember who dunnit! I heard that KB shouts a lot as part of his role.
Have a good Wednesday all.
Good Morning, All. Grey here, but warmer.
Annette - Good to know that you're safely arrived. Miss D must have been pleased to see you! I was careful describing the film, as pleasure can be spoiled by too much description.
Lynette - Sorry the cat is poorly. Vets charge an awful lot for drug treatments. Friends of ours have their dog on permanent pills, and get them cheaper from the internet.(But I know that it's no help in your case)
