LINDY What a wonderful pic, thank you.
Thanks for your thoughts. We are home now, after an easy journey with not much traffic on the roads.
We could see the sea on the North Wales coast getting choppy, and sudden gusts bringing green leaves whizzing across the road, where they'd been torn from the branches. No towing caravans or high sided vehicles allowed on the bridges.
Diane, we are alright here, where we don't have any large trees overhanging our property.
Glad you enjoyed the pic, Dibnlib!
Glad you are home OK, LINDY. I'm home also, DIBNLIB
HEATHER/LINDY Glad you are home safe and sound.
Have just been reading the News as regards the extreme weather, and it says that some parts of the country has skies filled with Sahara sand, brought here by the storms. We noticed when driving back that the sun looked red and dull, which is something we've only ever seen before when abroad. Strange to see it here!
The sky is really weird here. I wondered what on earth it was!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
An article I read said that the storm was blowing in dust from the Sahara but also debris from the wildfires in Spain and Portugal, making the sky and the sun appear red. I see that the storm is hitting Ireland very hard causing deaths, power outages, and very high winds. My thoughts are with everyone affected.
Limpy and I made it to a local reserve yesterday afternoon - click on this magpie if you'd like to see more:
I have been locked out of my laptop for a few days. I don't know why, but it is working now.
Lovely photos, Clare. Always like to see them.
The sky was really weird here as well. The light through the window was like sunset, and it became very dark all the afternoon. Brownish clouds, and I swear I could smell smoke.
Nothing like the problems in Ireland, though. Thoughts for those affected.
