Hello to all,
Welcome to this time zone, Annette. Hope you are recovering from jet lag. It takes me ages.
Heather, Wishing that your day is an improvement on yesterday. I think young men are quite considerate to (who they perceive as) old ladies. I think they remember they have a mother (or grandmother) who could be in the same predicament!
OG, As Annette says, hope your mysterious mission is enjoyable.
Hello to Lynette. Good luck with the holiday planning. Sometimes. that is half the fun.
We are having a lazy day, but have just returned from a visit to an interesting garden. Very quirky and unusual. I don't usually like flowers mixed with artificial structures, but it works here. Heller Gardens in Gardone.
Hello-
LYNETTE- good to hear that all is going along OK. It seems as if ROSY might know more about cruises than anyone else on here? I am always astonished at the difference in the price of wine between here and France. Also much cheaper in Germany.
ROSY- I'm going to look up the Heller Gardens! I've only been to Italy on two occasions. To Rome and Capri and once to Sorrento. Our MARGO, much missed from this thread, loved Sorrento so much.
ANNETTE- will be thinking about you and the family as you celebrate with your sister and brother in law on their Golden Wedding anniversary. Hope the weather is not too miserable.
It was only 6°C here this morning and so misty.
OG- a secret mission has aroused everyone's curiosity! Hope it went OK!!
My day has been up and down. A business meeting this morning which while fine as it was going on, left me feeling sad afterwards. Nothing to worry about but all things connected with OH just make me focus on the loss. I'm sure that things will get better as time goes on:-)
Regards to all
Chilly but dry here OH off and troughs around Cottage put to bed. 3 weeks early but rain and no warmth made them look so sad.
Daisy off colour but all down to a food supplier changing its recipe after 7 years without a banner on sack telling us. A big named holistic company so I big decision taking place to change . Think we have found one but twice the price but with her issues husbands PayPal account will come through.
Heather not a good time ever for all the paper work but at least all is moving on.
HeatherB not sure about the wine in Germany, certainly hotel wasn't cheap but that's probably the norm. We stuck to beer when out and about. Friend bringing wine back from France for me, get it quite cheap over there.
Annette, nice to see you are over here visiting family. Hope celebrations go well this weekend for Sister and BiL.
It musn't be very nice having to go through paperwork relating to OH but once its done it can be put aside and you remember all the good times.
Have a good weekend all.

I returned mid-pm, enjoyed my escape, 100s photos, early to bed.
A lovely morning here!
Youngest son in law is coming to do a couple of small jobs here today. Mia and Isla are spending a couple of nights with their other granny. They will really enjoy that because she has two dogs - they love playing with them.
Sleep well, AQ. I hope that there were plenty of comfort stops on your tour!
Sorry if I was a bit mis last evening. I'm back to what passes for normal, today.
OG - your eyes will be back in 'seeing' mode today? I was thinking about you this morning, remembered that Saturday is cooked breakfast day.
Better go, SIL will be here any minute
Good afternoon, all. Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I haven't had too much to chat about. I can say, though, that Limpy and I made it to Regent's Park on Wednesday - if you'd like to see the photos click on this beautiful corvid:
I'm hoping that a few more people will be adding their photos soon!
EDIT: There are more than mine, now. Worth looking at!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Brilliant, CLARE!
Like the photos, Clare.
Is anyone else on here watching Strictly? I'm watching it for the first time and it's great fun - though I do wonder what planet Bruno Tonioli is from.
