  • Harelady: They look lovely but aren't they a bit cramped!!!!!

  • Yes they are cramped - they will be spread around the room eventually when I have got the bookshelves sorted.

Nice bright day here - I'm off to buy some firewood as I have 2 fireplaces in the lounge, but will only use one. I've not had a real fire since I left home, very many years ago!

Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Well I've had a bad start to the day, accidentally deleted my log in details for Facebook when clearing history from PC. After several attempts seem to have ended up with a new FB page. Stuff for the old page is still coming in on my Kindle Fire so goodness knows what will happen. I have started making friends requests to those who were on my old page. It could only happen to me, I'm not very computer literate, it seems. How on earth did I manage to install Windows10 with no help?

Enjoy your real fire, HARELADY. I'm envious.

  • Quick pop-in from me - good day out yesterday our first this year!  Eye clinic this afternoon, so on my way to shower now after a slow start to the day!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Hello everyone.

I am looking over Lake Garda in Italy at the moment. We arrived here last Tuesday. (three pairs of shoes).

Our daughter is with us. She thinks she is looking after the Aged P's, and OH thinks that he is giving the daughter a holiday. The truth is probably somewhere in between!

I also like your collection of hares, Harelady. It must have taken some time to collect all those. And these are some of them? I did not know there were so many available. I used to collect rabbits, which was not difficult.

I hope your day has improved by now, Heather, and you are managing to sort things out.

Glad you had a good day out yesterday, OG. At least you found one day free from appointments.

Best wishes to Annette, and  others travelling. Airports are no fun nowadays, unfortunately.

  • ROSY- lovely to hear from you and to be able to think of you in Italy:-) with your three pairs of shoes:-) I know what you mean about giving your daughter a lovely holiday whereas she probably thinks that you couldn't manage without her!

My day didn't get any better. The security alarm went into Attack mode (?) and I had to phone for assistance. Two sweet young men came and sorted it and managed to convince me that it wasn't my fault. I'm not so sure.... Then I managed to overcook my lunchtime fish. All in all, tomorrow can't come soon enough!

ANNETTE will be in the UK now and probably adjusting to the time difference.

Hope your eye appointment went well, OG.

  • Appointment was fine today - and my first cataract will be done before Christmas, so long as I can keep away from infections!  Not seeing well this evening as better eye received just as many drops!

Out on a "secret mission " tomorrow morning but hope to get back to real conversation over the weekend - after which it's church newsletter week!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Evening all - and I say that knowing I'm in the same time zone as most of you.!  :-)   Flight was really good, although I opted for an alleged "preferred" seat in Coach and not sure why it would be preferred or why anyone would want to pay more for it. That said, cabin attendants were all very pleasant and helpful and in spite of a few bumps and wobble over the Western Atlantic, it was a smooth flight. We got in 30 minutes early and I walked out into the pickup area the same time my  niece walked in from the car park. Just finished a lovely dinner, dressed in our comfy clothes and I suspect I'll be in bed early. We'll have a lazy day tomorrow, then head up to my sister's Saturday morning with a stop at a supermarket en route to pick up eats and wine.  It's my sister's and BiL's wedding anniversary this weekend, so the UK side of the family will be at their house to celebrate.

Harelady: Ah ha!  The mystery of your RSPB user name is revealed. Did you decide you liked hares or did the family do that for you? Enjoy the fireplace.

Heather: I don't think your Facebook mishap is exclusive.   Hope you get it sorted with minimal hassle.  So sorry the day continued as it started. Stilll, tomorrow is a new day.

OG: Secret mission sounds very mysterious. I hope it's fun.

  • Hello all. Not been on for some time but always in my thoughts.

Just read all your news and glad to read that all seems well with you all.

Forestboar - glad to see that things are improving for you and that all will be settled soon.

    Harelady - love those hares

Not a big film buff - did think of going to see Dunkirk but never made it. Mind you, wouldn't mind seeing Victoria and Abdul, Judy Dench is such a marvellous actress.

Not a lot happening here, still plodding on, although OH has been commentating the last couple of days at the last cricket match of the season.

Still looking for a cruise for next year. OH prefers a smaller ship but most of the cruises I've found (not all in the area he prefers) are on the big cruise ships. Mind you, can't have everything.  Also looking a 10day holidays somewhere in the sun as an alternative. This will be a special holiday as we will be celebrating our 50th WA next year.

Friends have gone over to France for a few days so will be bringing back some booze for themselves and my Dau and self - not bad getting someone to bring it in for you.

Will look in again at end of week. In the meantime take care and look after yourselves.
