Last night in Arizona; heading home tomorrow with stopover in Palm Desert. Will catch up then!
Oh dear! Diane. Your computer really did have a bug!!!
.
Annette – Don’t unpack your bag. You have a trip this weekend to some SA ghost towns. Staying Sat night at Peterborough Roundhouse Motel. Also on agenda Sound & Light Show at the Steamtown Rail museum. Peterborough was an important railway town with several gauges meeting there in ye olden days.
Another pic of a window in that Keith ex-church. I think the birds are a crimson rosella and a New Holland honeyeater.
LOL, AQ!
That's a truly lovely window.
Evening all: Got home around 2 after an easy drive. Was driving through LA during the eclipse (62%) but listening to eye witness accounts from various places along the Path of Totality. One local radio commentator noted that in LA, the eclipse looked like a rather dull and extra smoggy day, which was exactly what I'd been thinking. :-)
Diane: I've never heard of that kind of problem with a computer and I certainly would never have thought it was an actual bug under F1! Do hope things will get easier for you. Hugs from here.
AQ: Eeeek. Remind me about your weekend trip after the event - I've got so much to do this week.
Thanks all for your news.
Good Morning, All. Thanks for all the posts, everyone has been busy writing!
Diane -- That's a truly gobsmacking story about your computer. I would never have thought of that solution, some really lateral thinking there. You deserve to have won the battle!! {{HUGS!}}
Annette -- Good that you made it home OK. We saw the eclipse on various news channels here, and it certainly made a strong impression on those who saw it "live". A one off event, but you must be glad you didn't rush home for it as there wasn't much to see there.
Dibnlib -- Hope your heel soon feels better. You have some lovely outings, such a beautiful part of the country you live in.
AQ -- What a gorgeous window, I squinted to see what was in the brownish patch. Thanks for posting!
OG -- I'm sure you'll continue to improve your mobility, you seem to have done all the right things to get yourself back to normal. My Friend has had a harder time this time with her knee. The swelling is only just going down and she's hopeful that it will be accompanied by a lessening of the pain. She had a consultation on the pain relief she's on, and is now on a slow release morphine tablet which seems to help.
Clare -- How super to be able to get to Dyfi. I would so love to go, it's on my list of things we can get to if we make an effort, and you certainly did!! Glad you enjoyed yourselves.
Here's today's pic:
Labelled "A wild elephant in Deepor" - isn't he great?

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

I didn't even notice the "brown patch". I think it is a kangaroo (or wallaby) head. Too bad I didn't take time for close-ups but it was a brief toilet stop and I was due back on the bus. Here it is cropped - two eyes and some imagination!
I must dash I have a date with Mr Portillo, travelling from Kansas to Colorado tonight.
HEATHER Yes, we got the baguettes from Dores. They do some amazing fish and chips but as I am trying to lose weight I resisted. OH says the macaroni is just the best.
DIBNLIB - why is it always the case that the nicest things are often bad for us?
HEATHER It is just not fair. The tuna and sweetcorn roll was delicious though.
